Today's weather in the Caribbean with Dean predicted to continue running rampant and seems so many islands will be visited by this one uninvited guest has me again thinking that a destination wedding coordinator is invalueable at a time like this.
With guests scrambling to know what is going on and how their travel plans are being impacted, I personally work with the couple and their guests as to the best way to minimize any loss the storm may cause and to help the couple assess the feasibility of getting married in that location in the near future.
Working with a good destination wedding planner not only do they know the best times to get married in a destination from a weather standpoint, they will also tell you even in the best weather months traditionally you need a back-up plan, do not wait until bad weather strikes to scramble for new details... noone really wants to go with plan b, however sometimes it is necessary.
The photo above is from Dreams Tulum it is of their small chapel right on the property. It is a lovely option if bad weather is to come your way (remember rain on your wedding day is a sign of a happy marriage) your guests will not even suspect this is a plan b. You could use one of the elegant banquet rooms for a reception or if you plan ahead maybe even a restaurant.
Be flexible and employ a professional to make days like today better days for the destination wedding couple.
