Everyone loves a beautiful wedding cake.  Many resorts include a small wedding cake in the packages that they offer, couples who want larger cakes must pay per person to get a larger cake.  Depending on where you get married they may charge you to cut and serve the cake even after you have paid for it.

So some sage advice for those of you looking to maximize your budget, have a small cake for the cake cutting ceremony, serve your guests a dessert which is included in your package or can be purchased for much less than a wedding cake.

If you are going to have an at home reception you may even decide to have your small cake recreated on a larger scale to serve all of your guests at home or employ the same money saving tip there too and serve another dessert or even sheet cake.
