As with anything in a difficult financial envoirment a wedding can seem almost impossible.

This week I was out and ran into someone who was suprised to hear that my business continues to be busy despite the economy.    Upon leaving my friend I was reflective, trying to think why my business is currently busy and why it will continue to do well even in a tough economic enviorment

I am not new to destination weddings.  I have been planning destinationweddings since the time when it was really something novel, very far from mainstream.  Each year it seems that more and more people are having destination weddings.   When I first became a destination wedding coordinator one of the large resort chains just for couples introduced the concept of  a free wedding.   Free wedding, seems inconceivable in todays world yet, still there are resorts that offer a free wedding most are not without cost even if they are sold as free so you should be careful.

Am I a luxury, yes and no, interestingly I always find a large part of my job to help couples maximize their budgets.  Everyone has a budget it may be a multimillon dollar budget or a very small wedding, however each couples goal is the same to use that budget in a way that is most meaningful for them and for their guests.  I am always on the lookout for costs which can be eliminated and ways to maximize a budget to wow the couple and thier guests.   Interestingly this approach not only saves money but also time and who can not use extra time and extra cash!  Now may be the time to consider a destination wedding.  I strongly suggest that you consult with a proffessional wedding planner a bit of money spent initally will save lots in the long run.   We will know the best islands, resorts to fit any budget.
